I joined Mike Ferguson on Missouri Viewpoints this week to discuss Right-to-Work, Paycheck Protection, prevailing wage, and Union Recertification.
Did you know, 93% of private union members in the country never had a vote in the certification of their union.
Union Rectification gives workers the opportunity to keep their union or even pick a new one.
Dreamland: The True Tale of America’s Opiate Epidemic (New York: Bloomsbury Press, 2015)
Nobody can do it on their own but no drug dealer, nor cartel, can stand against families, schools, churches, and communities united together.”
I believe I had heard mentions of this book on the floor of the Missouri Senate from Senator Rob Schaaf. It wasn’t until I listened to an interview that I felt compelled to purchase the book and read it for myself.
Driving home from a meeting in Kansas City I was catching up on my podcast listening. While traversing the curves of Highway 87, Russ Roberts introduced Sam Quinones on Econtalk. I felt the interview with Dreamland’s author was so intriguing I immediately bought the book on Amazon the moment I arrived home.
I was not disappointed when I opened the cover.
JEFFERSON CITY – Americans for Prosperity-Missouri is disappointed in Sen. McCaskill’s NO vote to confirm Judge Gorsuch. Last week, Sen. McCaskill warned a group of donors to pitfalls of blocking Judge Gorsuch and proclaimed, “Gorsuch was one of the better ones.” On Thursday, Sen. McCaskill voted against cloture that would allow an up or down vote on the nominee. Meanwhile, AFP-MO thanks Sen. Roy Blunt for voting to confirm Judge Gorsuch.
Judge Gorsuch was confirmed in a bipartisan vote, 54-45.
State Director Jeremy Cady issued the following statement:
“Only last week did Sen. McCaskill admit Judge Gorsuch ‘was one of the better ones.’ Yet, when asked her decision, Sen. McCaskill opted to play political games and side with the Washington establishment instead of listening to her constituents. We plan to hold Sen. McCaskill accountable for her decision to engage in political theater and utilize our grassroots force in Missouri to educate voters on her misguided decision to block and oppose the confirmation of Judge Gorsuch.
“Americans for Prosperity thanks Sen. Blunt for his support and vote to confirm Judge Gorsuch. We believe Judge Gorsuch will be a great addition to the Court.”
